A majority of central New York residents, which included Broome County in the Marist poll, is supportive of local government consolidation.

Fifty-six percent of the central New York respondents support it; 41 percent don't.

Local support for consolidation was overwhelming in several areas, including road maintenance, parks and recreation, recycling and garbage removal -- all supported by more than 59 percent of respondents.
